This is one of our most frequently asked questions as we know there are SO many articles online about the best way of doing so. Overall, it’s the sooner better when it comes to eating fresh meat but with busy lives and fussy families it isn’t always possible. We have 10 top tips for storing your meat.
- Store your meat on the bottom shelf of the fridge
- Take your meat out of the packaging and put on top of a piece of kitchen roll in an air-tight sealed box
- Keep your fridge between 1-4 degrees
- Don’t overpack your fridge as this will increase the overall temperature
- Make sure you store your types of meat separately
- Always follow the best before details on packaging
- If freezing ensure you allow your meat to completely defrost before cooking or only store in the fridge for two days
- Once cooked eat your meat within two days
